Cut, Shape And FinishHotscope Hair Services
A haircut is the one service that has to work on a Tuesday morning when you are doing it yourself. Your stylist cuts to your face shape, your density and your growth pattern, then shows you how to keep the shape at home in under ten minutes.
Every one of these is booked as a haircut. What changes is how much is coming off and how much of the shape is being rebuilt, which your stylist agrees with you first.
The smallest amount taken off to clear split ends and keep your existing shape sharp. The right choice when you are growing your hair and do not want to lose length.
Weight removed through the lengths so hair moves instead of sitting flat. Cut to suit your density, because the same layers behave very differently on fine and thick hair.
A fringe, curtain bangs or softer pieces around the face. Quick to cut, but the piece that changes your look the most, so it is always discussed before scissors touch it.
A real change of length or shape, planned from your growth pattern up. Allow a little longer in the chair and bring photos of what you want and what you do not.
A starting point, not a rule. Your stylist works with your features, your hair type and what you actually like, and will happily talk you through why something will or will not sit the way you expect.
Balanced proportions, so most lengths and shapes work. The question becomes what suits your hair type rather than your face.
Length past the chin, longer layers and a side parting add angles. Height at the crown helps more than width at the sides.
Soft layers, waves and texture round off a strong jaw. Blunt lines that finish exactly at the jaw tend to emphasise it.
Width at the jaw balances a wider forehead. Chin length or longer shapes and a side swept fringe work well here.
Width through the mid lengths shortens the face visually. A blunt or curtain fringe does the same without losing length.
Hair grows around half an inch a month, so a shape holds for a set number of weeks rather than a set number of washes. These are the usual intervals.
Pixies, bobs and crops lose their line first. Cutting on schedule is what keeps a short shape looking deliberate.
A dusting every couple of months keeps the ends clean while you gain length, instead of losing it to splits.
If ends are splitting from heat or color, cutting more often stops the split travelling further up the hair.
About 45 minutes from sitting down to walking out, and the first part is talking, not cutting.
Your stylist looks at your hair dry first, so they can see your natural fall, your parting and your growth pattern, then agrees the shape and the price with you.
Hair is washed, combed through and sectioned, so every part of the cut is measured against the same starting point.
Cut in sections and checked for balance, with the ends personalised last so the shape suits your texture rather than the scissors.
Dried and styled, then your stylist talks you through how to get the same result at home with the tools you already own.
The starting price covers the wash, the cut and a finish. Your stylist confirms your exact figure at the consultation, before anything is cut.

The questions clients ask most, answered straight.
A haircut starts from $39 and takes about 45 minutes, including the wash, the cut and a finish. Very long or thick hair can take longer, and your stylist confirms the price at the consultation before starting.
Short shapes hold for about 6 to 8 weeks before they lose their line. If you are growing your hair, 8 to 12 weeks keeps the ends clean without losing length. Damaged ends usually need trimming closer to every 6 to 8 weeks.
Yes. The wash and a finish are part of the haircut, so you see the shape properly styled before you leave rather than guessing at home.
Yes. Curly hair is cut to follow your curl pattern so the shape falls correctly once it dries. You can also book curly hair care for cutting plus hydration in one visit.
No. Hair grows from the scalp, not the ends. What trims do is stop splits travelling up the hair shaft, so you keep more of the length you grow instead of losing it to breakage.
Please do. Two or three photos say more than a description, and one photo of a cut you do not want is just as useful. Your stylist will tell you honestly how close your hair can get.
Yes, and your stylist will talk through the upkeep first. A fringe grows into your eyeline within a few weeks, so it needs trimming more often than the rest of your cut.
Appointments are for adult women, and every client must be at least 18 years old. Children are not permitted in the salon.
Send a booking request or call the salon. Every haircut starts with a consultation, so you know the shape and the price before anything is cut. Open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
